Banjul, Gambia, 07/22 - The Central Bank of the Gambia said it would introduce new banknotes to go into circulation from 27 July.
A release from the Bank Wednesday said the move "is to improve the security, durability and aesthetic quality" of the country`s banknotes.
"According to the demands of international best practice, Central Banks introduce banknote design and security feature changes every six to eight years," the release added.
The Gambian Central Bank in 2000 introduced new-look Dalasi, which currently exchanges at 29.4 to one US dollar.
